The Kiwanis Club of Croydon recently had the pleasure of volunteering at the Peppermint Children’s Centre, dedicating a day to tidying up the garden and play area. It was incredibly rewarding to work together, clearing weeds, planting new flowers, and generally sprucing up the outdoor space. We hope our efforts have created a more vibrant and welcoming environment for the children to play and learn in.
Here we have a few “Before” and “After” shots of the garden and play area.
Unleashing Creativity (and Sipping Some Fun!): My Sip and Paint Success!
Hey everyone!
The Kiwanis Club of Croydon recently hosted a sip and paint event, and let me tell you, it was an absolute blast! We’ve been wanting to organise something like this for a while, and seeing it come to fruition was incredibly rewarding!
Why Sip and Paint? The Benefits Are Real!
Before diving into the details of the event, let’s talk about why sip and paints are so popular. They offer a unique blend of relaxation, creativity, and social interaction.
Stress Relief: In our busy lives, it’s essential to find ways to unwind. Painting provides a fantastic outlet for stress, allowing you to focus on the present moment and let your worries fade away. The casual, social atmosphere of a sip and paint further enhances this relaxation.
Creative Expression: Even if you think you’re “not artistic,” a sip and paint encourages you to explore your creative side. There’s no pressure to create a masterpiece; it’s all about the process.
Social Connection: It’s a fantastic way to connect with friends, meet new people, and share a fun experience. The relaxed atmosphere makes it easy to chat, laugh, and enjoy each other’s company.
Boosted Confidence: Completing a painting, even a simple one, can give you a real sense of accomplishment. It’s a reminder that you’re capable of creating something beautiful.
Fun and Entertainment: Let’s face it, it’s just plain fun! Sipping your favorite beverage while painting creates a lighthearted and enjoyable atmosphere.
OurEvent: A Resounding Success!
Our Inaugural sip and paint event exceeded all our expectations. We had a wonderful group of people, a mix of friends and new faces, all eager to try their hand at painting. A vibrant, easy-to-follow theme was chosen as our subject, and everyone brought their own unique style to their canvases.
The room was filled with laughter and conversation.
Everyone was supportive of each other, offering encouragement and compliments.
The variety of paintings was astonishing! It was amazing to see how everyone interpreted the same subject in their own way.
The drinks and snacks helped to create a very comfortable and fun environment.
Many attendees expressed that they had not painted since they were kids, and that they had a wonderful time.
The feedback received was overwhelmingly positive. Many people said they felt relaxed and inspired, and they were surprised at how much they enjoyed the experience.

The Power of Sponsorship
Sponsorship plays a vital role in the success of grassroots sports clubs like the Croydon Women’s Football Club. It provides essential financial support that enables teams to:
Cover operational costs: From pitch hire and equipment to training facilities and travel expenses, sponsorship helps ensure the club can function smoothly.
Invest in player development: By funding coaching sessions, player development programs, and opportunities for skill enhancement, sponsors contribute to the growth of young talent.
Create a positive impact: Sponsorship allows clubs to give back to the community by organizing events, supporting local initiatives, and inspiring young people to get involved in sports.
Our Commitment to Grassroots Sports
The Kiwanis Club of Croydon is dedicated to serving the needs of children. We believe that sports play a crucial role in a child’s development, fostering teamwork, discipline, and a healthy lifestyle. By partnering with the Croydon Women’s Football Club, we aim to:
Empower young women: We want to encourage girls to pursue their passion for football and provide them with opportunities to excel both on and off the field.
Promote inclusivity: We strive to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for all players, regardless of their background or ability.
Inspire the next generation: We hope to inspire young people to get involved in sports and lead active, fulfilling lives.
We are excited about the future of this partnership and look forward to working together to make a positive impact on the Croydon community.
